The Owen Family Funeral Home was incorporated in January 2004. The doors of the brand new facility were opened in November 2005, by lifetime area residents, Richard & Kimberly Owen, of Syracuse, IN. Richard has been involved in the funeral business for 30 years. He graduated from the Mid-America College of Funeral Service in Jeffersonville, IN.

Richard worked for the Eastlund-Harris & Eastlund-Mishler Funeral Homes in Syracuse and Milford for nearly ten years. Six of those years were devoted to being the resident manager of the Milford branch, where he lived and raised his family.

During the next several years Richard was associated with two other area funeral homes as a pre-need counselor, funeral director, and trade embalmer.

During his entire career in the funeral profession, Richard's desire has been to serve and minister to the people in the community where he and Kym grew up. Over the years people have expressed their support and enthusiasm for Richard to continue his involvement with area families by owning and operating his own funeral home business. That desire and dream became reality in 2005.

Naming the business Owen Family Funeral Home was an easy decision. Richard and Kym have three married adult children, Kristen, Alex, & Katie. They, along with their spouses, have been a great foundation in which to build the family owned facility. They assist in many areas of the daily operations of the funeral home.

The Owen Family Funeral Home is truly a local family owned and operated funeral home with locations in Syracuse and North Webster. They are the only funeral home in Kosciusko County with their own crematory located in Warsaw (Cremation Services of Kosciusko County). The entire staff at O.F.F.H. are friends who help provide service, compassion, and care to our local community 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, to one family at a time.
