Russell P. β€œRuss” Whetten, 54, of Milford, IN passed away Friday, July 13, 2012 as the result of a motorcycle accident near Milford. He was born on October 18, 1957 in Elkhart, IN to Larry L. & Nancy M. (Stevens) Whetten.

He attended Fairfield High School and lived most of his life in the Elkhart / Kosciusko County areas except for some time he lived in California and Arizona. He formerly was a truck driver, worked at Holiday Rambler in Wakarusa, IN & Lippert Components in Goshen, IN as a welder. He was an amateur motor cross rider in California & Indiana.

He is survived by:
Mother – Nancy Savala of Milford
Father & Step Mother – Larry & Lucy Whetten of Edwardsburg, MI
Sister – Mrs. Richie (Pam) Walker of Milford
2 Brothers – Steve Whetten Sr. of Syracuse & Albert Whetten of Woodland, CA
2 Nephews – Steve Whetten Jr. & Cory Whetten
Niece – Mrs. Bobby (Stephanie) Edwards
3 Gt. nieces & nephews
3 Step Daughters – Kasandra (fiancΓ© – Jeremy Howard) Lanham of Leesburg; Mrs. Jeremiah (Jessica) Criqui of Topeka & Kyra Davis of Milford
6 Step Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his step father – Lollie Savala.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home on Thursday with Pastor Brad Cox of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel officiating. Burial will take place in the Milford Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial bequest may be given to the Russell Whetten Funeral fund, c/o Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
