Jerry Lee Badskey, 74, of North Webster & North Manchester, IN passed away at 8:05 a.m. on Friday, April, 13, 2012 at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester, IN. He was born on March 30, 1938 in Huntington, IN to Lorin Justin & Ruby Marie (Lepley) Badskey.
 
He graduated in 1957 from Chester High School and in 1961 from International Business College in Fort Wayne, IN with an Associate’s Degree. He served in the Air National Guard of Indiana and the Reserve of the U.S. Air Force during the Berlin Crisis. He was married on October 19, 1958 at the Servia Congregational Christian Church to Julia Ann Purdy who survives. He retired in 1987 as the owner / operator of Badskey Realty in North Webster. He was formerly employed with the family business, LML Corporation in Columbia City where they made pontoons from 1954-1980.  He lived in Wabash, Allen, & Kosciusko counties most of his life and wintered in Ft. Myers, FL for several years.
 
He was a member of North Webster United Methodist Church and attended the North Manchester Congregational Christian Church. He was a member of the Lakeland Kiwanis and American Legion Post 253 both of North Webster. He received his Eagle Scout Award on October 31, 1955 from troop 15 in North Manchester. He was president of the Kosciusko Board of Realtors from 1990-1991.
 
He is survived by:
Wife – Julia Badskey of North Webster
3 Sons – Steven Lee (wife, Mary) Badskey of Montgomery, AL; Kent Lee (wife, Michelle) Badskey of Pierceton, IN; & Scott Lee (wife, Christine) Badskey of Barrington, IL                
5 Grandchildren                         
Sister – Mrs. Luther (Janet) Allen of North Webster
Aunt – Mrs. Arden (Elizabeth) Ayres of North Manchester
 
He was preceded in death by his parents.
 
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & C.R. 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 16, 2012 at North Webster United Methodist Church, 7822 E. Epworth Forest Road, North Webster with Pastor David Smitley officiating. Burial will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April, 16, 2012 at the Oaklawn Cemetery, 600 Beckley St., North Manchester, IN with Rev. J.P. Freeman officiating. Military graveside services will be conducted by the North Webster American Legion Post 253.
