Obituary  Send Flowers  For Veterans  Condolences 
Robert Ray Sherman, 48, of North Webster, IN passed away at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw, IN. He was born on January 5, 1964 in Savannah, GA to John Thomas & Martha Frances (Ray) Sherman.
 
He graduated in 1982 from Hickory High School in Hickory, NC and served from 1983-1987 & 1991-2001 in the United States Army, including Desert Storm. He was married on June 19, 1991 in Hickory to Cheryl J. Kennedy who survives. He formerly worked at Griffith’s Security, was a police officer, and a volunteer fireman all in Hickory.
 
He moved to Kosciusko County in 2001 from Texas, formerly attended Calvary Baptist Church in Oswego, and was a member of American Legion Post 253 in North Webster.  
 
He is survived by:
Wife – Cheryl Sherman of North Webster
Daughter – Cindy Sherman at home
Son – Robert Sherman II at home
Mother – Martha Mogray of Hickory, NC
Brother – John (wife, Carol) Sherman of Sapulpa, OK
2 Half Brothers – Jacob Mogray of Bergenfield, NJ & David Mogray of Dallas, TX
Half Sister – Mrs. Mike (Mary Jane) Gouge of Knoxville, TN
 
He was preceded in death by his father – John Sherman & Step Father – Kenneth Mogray.
 
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 14, 2012 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster. Memorial services will follow at 7:00 on Monday in the funeral home with Rev. Dennis Bollenbacher of the New Beginnings Community Church officiating. Military services will be held at the funeral home following the memorial service by North Webster American Legion Post 253.
 

Memorial bequest may be given to the Robert Sherman Funeral fund, c/o Owen Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 72, North Webster, IN 46555. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
