Kenneth Ray “Kenny” Knisley, 87, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 5:00 a.m. on Monday, October 14, 2019 at his home. He was born on January 26, 1932 in New Paris, IN to John & Cecil (Strycker) Knisley.
He attended New Paris Public Schools and was a Korean War Army veteran. He was married on April 13, 1952 Kathryn L. Huey who preceded him on July 8, 2017 and was a lifetime New Paris, Goshen, and Syracuse area resident. He retired from Goshen Rubber Company after 25 years, formerly worked at AC Fabrication in Goshen for 20 years, and was a part time bartender & cook at the Wawasee Bowling Alley for many years.
He was an avid bowler.
He is survived by:
3 Sons – Kevin Knisley of Bristol, Dana (Gloria) Knisley of Syracuse, and Brian (Sarah) Knisley of Syracuse
9 Grand, 15 Gt. Grand, and 7 Gt. Gt. Grandchildren
2 Brothers – Donald (June) Knisley of New Paris & Glen (Mary Ann) Knisley of Warsaw
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Dixie Knisley, 2 sisters – Ruth Mench & Mary Jane Byrd, and 4 brothers – Carl, Clarence, Ralph, and John Knisley Jr.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2019 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral & military services will follow on Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Brad Cox of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN. Private family burial will take place in the Solomon Creek Cemetery at a later date.
