Gerald F. “Jerry” Williams, 93, of Leesburg, IN passed away at 7:55 a.m. on Monday, October 11, 2021 at Mason Health Care & Rehab in Warsaw, IN.

Gerald was born in Paoli, Indiana to Earl Williams and Helen Louise (Morris) Williams.  Scott Flick married Helen (Morris) Williams after Gerald’s father passed away.  Later Scott adopted Gerald.  Gerald graduated from Kokomo High School.  He played on the football team and was class vice president. 

He joined the Navy after graduating high school.   He was a Veteran of U.S. Navy World War II.  Gerald was past president of the North Side Baseball Little League in Kokomo where he server for 10 years.  Gerald belonged to the Saint Luke’s United Methodist Church in Kokomo. He served on the building committee for the new church.

He was employed at the Post Office for 37 years before retiring in 1982.  He also worked for the Kokomo Post Office Credit Union for 10 years.  He was Post Master at Marion, Indiana when he retired.

Gerald was Worshipful Master of Howard Lodge #93 in 1965.  He was a Mason for over 50 years.  Gerald was also President of the Howard County Scottish Rite Club in 1967 and president of the Kokomo Shrine Club in 1969.  His memberships included Murat Shriners, Scottish Rite Club, Indianapolis, Indiana, Grant County Scottish Rite Club of Marion, York Rite of Indiana, Mizpah Fort Wayne, Elks Lodge #802 of Warsaw, Indiana, and American Legion Van Buren and North Webster, Indiana.  He belongs to the Izaak Walton League, Wabash, Indiana.

He was married for 28 years to Maria J Michos. In December 1979 he married Gloria Jean (McCoy) Parrish.  In 1982 they moved to their lake home at Tippecanoe Lake and started Key Appraisals, Inc.

They belonged to Tippecanoe Lake Country Club, Elks Lodge #802 of Warsaw, Indiana.  They also belonged to Shrine Antique Car Club, Warsaw, Indiana They had purchased a 1931 Post Office Truck (similar to what Gerald used in 1944).  They entered it and their 1931 Ford Roadster in parades and car shows.

Daughters, Sandy Jo (Parrish) (Carper) Driver, Doug Driver and Toni Lynn (Parrish) Derry both living nearby.  Their Daughter Melodye (Williams) Jack Workman in Kokomo.  Their beloved dog Pumpkin included in family outings.

Their Grandchildren are Kelsay (Ben Johnson) Derry, Kyal (Kylee Sponseller) Derry, and Kolt (Alexa Glass) Derry in Kosciusko County.  They have five great grandchildren. Doug and Sandy extended our family with 5 more grandchildren, 13 more great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Gary Colby officiating. Burial will take place in the Oswego Cemetery near Leesburg.

Preferred memorials may be given to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 2211 N. Oak Park Ave., Chicago, IL 60635.
